Midrash Rabbah explains that all prayers of Klal Yisroel are regarding the Beis Hamikdosh: Prayers for L’asid Lavo are tefillas that express a yearning for the end of our exile and the complete restoration of our nation. These tefillas include the return of Hashem’s presence among us, redemption from the suffering of exile, the rebuilding of Yerushalayim, the restoration of Sanhedrin, the restoration of the reign of the House of David, clarity in Torah, the rebuilding of the Beis Hamikdosh and the restoration of sacrifices, the ingathering of Jews from the diaspora, and the ability to serve Hashem wholeheartedly.
Mesillas Yesharim explains that
mankind was created only to take delight in Hashem and to benefit from the
radiance of His Shechinah (Divine Prescence). The true place for this pleasure is the World to Come, and this world is but a vestibule before the World to Come.
Rav Asi explained that the world was made dependent on human prayer.
Tikunei Zohar34 states regarding the verse: ולאמר לציון עמי אתה — and to say unto Zion "you are My people"35; don't read it as '׳עמי— my people, but rather as '׳עמי — with me, meaning as my partner.
Nefesh HaChaim 36 explains that the idea which this conveys is that human beings were granted the role of being partners with Hashem in the progress of rectifying the world and bringing about the redemption through the power of their tefillos. I
